Gregory A. Szallar
Gregory A. Szallar received his J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 1989 and his B.S. degree in Accounting with a Minor in Economics from Pennsylvania State University in 1986.
He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in 1990. He is a member of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.
Following his graduation from law school, he joined the Washington, D.C. law firm of Guerrieri, Edmond & James as an associate representing international and local labor organizations in proceedings before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Beginning in 1995, Mr. Szallar joined the Pittsburgh law firm of Jubelirer, Pass & Intrieri where he focused on labor and employment, employee benefit, criminal and litigation matters. In 1998 Mr. Szallar became General Counsel and Fund Manager for a local labor organization. In his dual role, Mr. Szallar represented the Local in collective bargaining negotiations, unfair labor practice proceedings and litigation matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. As a Fund Manager, he was responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of a multi-million dollar employee benefit fund. In 2003, he joined the Pittsburgh office of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs as a Vice President & Client Executive in HRH’s Employee Benefits Department. While there, Mr. Szallar provided employee benefit consulting, sales and marketing services for small and mid-market accounts.
At Flaherty & O’Hara, Mr. Szallar handles all aspects of liquor licensing matters, concentrating on Pennsylvania licensing matters, hearings and litigation.
