Flaherty & O’Hara, PC partners R.J. O’Hara and Stan Wolowski are excited to have been invited to participate in the Uniform Law Commission’s Study Committee on a possible model law for the direct shipment of spirits to consumers. A diverse group of Study Committee members representing a wide array of interests in the alcohol industry and public health field are participating in the committee’s discussions. Wine may be shipped directly to consumers by producers in about 45 states, whereas spirits may only lawfully be shipped to consumers in about 8 states. The Study Committee is looking at the issues involved with creating a uniform law to permit the direct shipping of spirits in an expanded number of states. To learn more, click here.
